💔 Grieve the Girl You Had to Leave Behind
There’s a version of you maybe long gone who never got to live.
She never got to feel safe.
She never got to be a carefree teenager.
She never had the space to heal, to laugh without flinching, to trust without bracing for betrayal.
She was the girl who held it all together when no one else did.
The one who swallowed emotions, silenced her needs, and put on a brave face even when her world was falling apart.
And maybe now... she’s still hiding in you.
Waiting for someone to say:
“It’s okay to grieve the girl you were never allowed to be.”
🕯️ A Silent Grief No One Talks About
We talk a lot about the trauma.
But we don’t talk enough about the mourning.
Not just of what happened to us, but of what never happened.
The childhood that never felt like childhood.

She still lives within you and always will.
She’s you.

And because she’s still here, you can talk to her.
You can love her.

There is so much power in that.

Not by rewriting the past, but by re-parenting the parts of you that still ache.

Today’s practice:

Find a quiet space.
Place your hand over your heart.

Tell her:

“What version of myself have I been grieving silently? What did she need back then that I can give her now?”
Let this be your way of acknowledging her and keeping her memory safe.

“I honor every version of me even the ones who didn’t survive the storm. I am not broken; I am layered, evolving, and whole.”
Repeat this in the mirror while looking into your own eyes.
Say it like you mean it.
She deserves that.
